Sequences / markers in and around the dystrophin gene

Introduction

This page lists the order of markers in and around the DMD gene. The markers are provided in relation to the DMD gene's transcriptional orientation, i.e. from centromere to telomere. In addition, links are provided to the sequences as present in GenBank (NCBI). On specific issues, more detailed data can be found at;

Exon: dystrophin gene (DMD) exon / intron number; links provided refer to a local copy of the respective segment of the "DMD gene Genomic Reference Sequence". DXS nr.: DXS number of probe, with link to UniSTS database at NCBIor the Genome DataBase (GDB). Probe name: lab or alternative name of the marker / probe. GenBank: accession number with link to the sequence(s) in GenBank; DMD:.... = link to a local copy of those GenBank sequences submitted by us (see GenBank submissions from the Leiden Muscular Dystrophy pages). When more than one accession number is given, the sequences overlap. Map position: location of the sequence in relation to the DMD gene Genomic Reference Sequence. Reference: publication describing the marker / probe. No reference usually means "Leiden, unpublished" (Leiden unp.).
